​self taught perspective to portray the juxtaposition of
​contemporary collectible design ​with the isles of a 99ç store.

Sarah-Waites' sustainable fabrication elicits a sensory surprise by provoking hands-on interaction with a structure traditionally understood in a different context. SPONG is an unveiling of perception through it's camouflaged squishy texture that mimics the look of stone. Functionality at it's core, SPONG provides a spill proof surface that also eliminates risk for stubbed toes. 

Sarah-Waites hopes to implement SPONG as a resource in learning/therapy environments built for those living with sensory illusory sensitivities.
